Ruby red. Aromas of sweet red and dark fruits, with subtle hints of spice and well-integrated oak. A full-bodied wine with ripe fruit, blackcurrant and intricate oak flavour, supple tannins and a lingering aftertaste.
Excellent with robust dishes such as pâtés and steaks, stews and casseroles, roasts and mature cheeses.

A very rare release, heralded due to particular climate conditions leading the respected 18th century Meerlust Wine Estate to declassify its flagship Bordeaux-style blend Rubicon from the 2019 vintage. The only previous occassions this occurred was in 1985, 1990, 2002 and 2011. The Red 2019 is Cabernet Sauvignon dominant (43%) with 31% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The complexity and structure of this wine provides exceptional drinking pleasure after 8 years in bottle. Compared to the older Meerlust Red vintages- from 85 to 11'- the style and greater Merlot content of the 2019, makes it softer and far more approachable. Offering a rare palate-pleasng experience

Pinotage, the offspring of Pinot Noir, was carefully selected to complement the elegant structure of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with luscious fruit. The Brut Rosé captivates with its delicate pale pink colour and intoxicating red fruit aromas which further delight the palate with hints of strawberry, raspberry and cherry flavours.

The Boschendal Nicolas is a blend brimming with character, each component outstanding in its own right which together creates something exceptional. Shiraz, a signature variety for Boschendal, adds intrigue and depth with intriguing spicy notes, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot give classical structure, Malbec a beautiful deep colour and vibrant red fruit, while the Merlot enhances the fruit profile and Cabernet Franc elaborates on the spicy richness of the Shiraz.
